Design Situation

Advertising is a multimillion pound industry. Advertising includes logos, packaging, point of sale displays, websites and television campaigns. International companies from Ford to McDonalds spend millions of pounds each year on advertising. Even smaller companies spend large amounts of their budget on good advertising campaigns.

Cadburys

Cadburys was founded in 1824 by John Cadbury who sold tea, coffee and drinking chocolate which he made himself and sold in birmgingham. After he went into the business of a lots of different drinking chocolates. This was made in a factory in
Bridge Street
. Which mostly rich people bought due to the high cost of manufacturing at this time. During this time himself John and his brother Benjamin Cadbury. At this time the company as known as Cadbury Brothers Of Birmingham. The two brothers then opened a office in London in 1854 they received a royal warrant as they made chocolate and coco for the Oueen Victoria. In the 1850’s the company needed a boost, this was when they made the chocolate more affordable to everyone.   The background of Cadburys here is a quote Gradually chocolate spread across Europe – it was the fashionable choice of Kings and Queens, the nobility and the rich, just like caviar or champagne today. At the end of the 19th Century milk was added, and at last someone devised a way of making chocolate to eat as well as to drink. But it wasn’t until the 20th century that chocolate became affordable for everyone." But in the 1969 they joined with Schweppes to make Cadburys Schweppes and they went onto make Sunkist, Canada dry and Typhoo Tea. But in the year 2007 that all changed when Cadburys announced that Somerdale Factory in Keynsham was going to be closing down. Between 500 and 700 jobs were effected by this change. Now they have transferred to other party of England and Poland. But some of it is in my own words.  Information from :
